This page explains what happens to your information when you visit cip.support or get in touch with Computers In Practice ("cip", "we"). We've kept it short because this site does very little with your data.
Who we are
Computers In Practice, 22 Cathedral Road, Cardiff CF11 9LJ. We are the data controller for any personal information described on this page and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZA366210. This page covers visitors to this website and people who contact us. If you're a client, the privacy notice supplied with your service agreement explains how we handle data as your IT provider, and takes precedence for that relationship.
What this website collects
Nothing directly. There are no contact forms, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising or social media scripts on this site. We don't track you between visits.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set cookies. When you dismiss the notice at the bottom of the page, a single flag is saved in your browser's local storage so the notice doesn't reappear. It contains no personal data and is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings. If we ever add cookies or analytics, we'll update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps in Microsoft's West Europe region (Netherlands). To deliver a page to you, Microsoft's infrastructure processes your IP address and standard connection details. We don't receive or keep an access log ourselves. Microsoft's handling of that data is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
If you contact us
If you email or phone us, we'll hold your name, contact details and the content of your message so we can respond. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and, where you're asking about our services, on taking steps before entering into a contract. Our email runs on Microsoft 365, so Microsoft processes it on our behalf under the same statement linked above.
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry. If you become a client, we keep records for the length of our relationship and for up to six years afterwards to meet our accounting and legal obligations.
Sharing
We don't sell or share your details with anyone for marketing. We'll only pass information to a third party if we need to in order to respond to you (for example, a supplier you've asked us to quote from) or if the law requires it.
Links to other sites
Our Insights posts link to news articles and vendor documentation elsewhere. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and in some cases ask for it in a portable format. Email help@cip.support and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/concerns or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
Changes
